VALUES STATEMENT
Throughout this course my values have adapted to the work that I am doing and where I want this project to go next. At the beginning of the semester I was focused on showcasing the works of Emily Pauline Johnson but as the semester has progressed I view it as more of a story with other information also presented to guide the audience through her journey as a writer but also inform the reader about Johnson's heritage and how it played a large role in her writings but also her performances. The values that have not changed are the ethical considerations that go into creating a satellite project, or a project with information about one person, as it is important to convey the information accurately and in a way that honors the works that she produced. It is also important to me to share the information in an accurate and accessible way. If the information is not displayed in an easy to read way then I cannot expect viewers to stay on the site long or have a desire to want more information. The accessibility has been something that I have learned throughout this course, that I had not previously considered, and want to make sure it remains prevalent throughout my satellite project.

As mentioned briefly, another value of mine is honesty and integrity. It is important to me to cite all information that I have gathered and want to include in my project and make sure that I am giving credit to all the parties. After all, a large majority of my work would not be on the site if it was not for the hard work of others. Remaining honest and connecting viewers to other sources to find additional information is important to me and has been made even more clear throughout the creation of my project. Another value of mine is to create a satellite project that I am proud of and want to showcase to others. I want to feel like users, even if they are not interested in DH work or Johnson, still want to visit my site and learn just a little bit more about the work that we all have done throughout the semester.
